Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preparation & Gauge Test: Crochet one test motif to check your gauge. After blocking, a sample floral motif should measure approximately 9 to 12 cm across, lying flat without becoming stiff.
  2. Center Ring: Begin with a magic ring, or ch 6 and join with a sl st in the first chain to create a ring.
  3. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 15 dc into the center ring, and join with a sl st into the top of the beginning ch 3 (16 st).
  4. Round 2: Ch 1, work 1 sc in same st. *Ch 4, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc; rep from * around, join with sl st in first sc (8 chain loops).
  5. Round 3: Sl st into first ch-4 space. Into same space work [sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc] to form a petal. Rep in each ch-4 sp around and join with sl st in first sc (8 petals).
  6. Round 4: Work behind petals to establish larger loops. Ch 1, sc at base between two petals, *ch 7, sc between next two petals; rep around.

Assembly & Finishing
