Step-by-Step Instructions
- Measure the wrist: Wrap a tape measure around your wrist, record the circumference, and add ¼–½ inch (0.6–1.3 cm) for comfort.
- Create foundation chain: Using size 3 cotton and a 2.5 mm hook, make a slip knot and loosely chain 11.
- First foundation row: Work 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each remaining ch (10 sc sts total). Chain 3 and turn (counts as first dc).
- First lace row: Work 1 dc in the first st, ch 2, skip 2 sts, [3 dc in next st, ch 2, skip 2 sts] twice, 1 dc in final st. Turn.
- Continue openwork: Chain 3, work 2 dc in the first ch-sp, ch 2, and work 3 dc in the next ch-sp across. Turn.
- Check dimensions: Repeat the lace rows until the bracelet measures roughly 7 inches (17.8 cm) long and 1–1½ inches (2.5–3.8 cm) wide, adjusting repeats to fit your wrist.
- Finish & Closure: Fasten off securely, weave in all ends, and sew your small decorative button to one end to pair with a loop on the other.
Assembly & Finishing
Block your finished bracelet lightly with a fabric stiffener if a crisp, vintage lace structure is desired before fastening your button securely.
